Production area
Morro d’Oro and Notoresco in the province of Teramo. Vineyards have a south/southeast exposure and average altitude of 300 meters o.s.l. Lightly alkaline cloy soils
Harvest
Half of October
Vinification
Heavily sorted grapes are soft pressed and macerated on the skins with frequent pump-overs for 25 days to obtain the optimal extraction of polyphenols and polysaccharides. Aging tokes place in 500 liter French oak tonneou for a period of 18 months, followed by 6 months of refining in bottle
Tasting notes
The color is deep ruby red with garnet nuances. On the nose the wine offers hints of red fruit jam (cherry, black cherry), dried flowers, cardamom and sweet tobacco. On the palate it is rich and intensely structured with well-integrated tannins and flavors of licorice and morosco cherry that carry through a dry, complex finish
Food pairing
Boiled, braised, roosted meat (beef, lamb), aged cheeses

Winemaker’s notes
The DOCG is one of the excellence of the Teramo territory. Elegant wine, of great structure and complexity, is proposed here in the Riserva type, which, thanks to the targeted aging in wood, confers even more complexity to this excellent selection
